Phonak Hearing Aids

Founded in 1947, Phonak is a Swiss manufacturer of hearing aids that is now a part of the Sonovo Group. Phonak strives to restore hearing to people who have been disconnected from the people they love and the things they were once so passionate about. Phonak promises not to rest “until wearing a hearing aid is as simple and routine as eyeglasses or contact lenses.” Phonak’s company model is built on three tenets of engaging the knowledge and insights of hearing care professionals; pioneering innovative solutions; and being passionate and connected to the people they serve.

Lyric: 24/7, Invisible

Launched in 2011, the Lyric still remains the only hearing solution that can be worn without interruption for up to four months. The Lyric is an invisible hearing aid, inserted in the ear canal near the eardrum by a hearing professional. It does not need to be removed nightly as with other hearing aids, nor does the battery require replacement. After four months, a hearing professional will remove the Lyric and replace it with a newly charged model. The Lyric meets the needs of people with moderate to severe hearing loss. It may be worn while swimming or in the shower, unlike traditional hearing aids.

CROS II: Single-Sided Deafness

The CROSII is designed for people with single-sided deafness. It gives wearers the freedom to have conversation in a diverse range of noise environments, without having to reposition themselves. The CROSII allows wearers to focus on sounds they want to hear, whether it is in conversation while driving or walking down the street. The CROSII appears as a hearing aid pair, but the difference from traditional binaural hearing aids lies in the CROSII’s design. The device with the microphone is placed into the ear with hearing loss, while the other ear holds the receiver. As such, a signal is sent from the ear with hearing loss to the normal ear, mixing sounds naturally for the wearer.
